Lamborghini is a glitzy automobile maker, has revealed its first NFT project: a collection of five digital art pieces based on space that are linked to a physical object known as the Space Key. The tokens were made out of a carbon fiber composite that was sent to International Space Station for a joint project in the year 2019.

NFTs are unique identifiers recorded on a distributed ledger, known as Blockchain and tied to a digital asset, like music or pictures. They are unique, which allows their owners to guarantee asset authenticity and scarcity. They can also be monitored and programmed via the internet. Lamborghini chose NFT PRO which is a white-label NFT specialist, to work on its new project.

Lamborghini will also offer five Space Keys via auction in addition to artwork that is themed around space. The NFTs are combined with tangible objects that have been discovered in space, which will boost their value as the popularity of NFTs continues to expand. Nike, Samsung and Reddit are already working with NFTs. Twitter has recently added the ability to display their favorite NFTs in their profile pictures by using hexa-shaped frames.

The Space Time Memory NFTs are sold through an online auction and the cost for each one is an unanswered question at the moment. The company has stated that it will reveal more details in the coming days and weeks, including the name of the artist and his identity behind the Space Key, digital artwork and the auction house.

It's an art work

The first auction of the artwork that is space-themed will be held on February 1st, the start of the Lunar New Year, and it will last for 75 hours and 50 minutes - which is the same amount of time it took for Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter the moon's orbit. Details about the auction as well as the artwork will be announced in the coming weeks. The artwork is an exploded image constructed from thousands of photographs of the Aventador.
